One of the questions I get asked most frequently is “What is the difference between the different skin care lines that doTERRA has?” and “Is the doTERRA Verage or doTERRA Essentials skin care line better?”. Both are excellent questions. Here is how I understand it.
The HD Clear skin care line is for acne-prone or problematic skin. It consists of a foaming face wash; an oil blend to prevent breakouts and promote clear complexion; and a moisturizing lotion. Think teenagers or people with acne-prone skin.
The Verage Skin Care line is for average skin and has many anti-aging properties. This is going to nourish and feed healthy skin and help keep skin healthy and young, while reducing the visible signs of aging using all natural . It is delightful and consists of a face wash, toner, serum, and moisturizer. This is a great regimen for people in their 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s to keep skin young and healthy.
The Essential Skin Care line is for more mature skin and formulated using all plant extracts to reverse the signs of aging, getting rid of fine lines and the dreaded “W” word.
Having said all of that, I don’t use just one collection. I have tried all the products and use them in different ways. I started by ordering the Verage kit, but as items ran out, I started trying different things and ultimately came up with the following:
I love the invigorating scrub (so does my husband), and we use it daily when we are in Texas. It smells great, is gentle and you can feel it tingling your skin. However when we are at our cabin in Washington and out in the sun all day, my skin gets a little more oily, so I will use the HD Clear Foaming Face Wash.
I LOOOVVVEEE the Verage toner and use it exclusively. It smells great and I like that you just spray it on for really even coverage. You can also spray it over your make-up to set your make-up.
I use the Skin Essentials Tightening Serum. How can you go wrong with the word “tightening” when you are dealing with aging skin? And by aging ,I mean I’m 40 and have never taken good care of my skin. Throughout most of my 20s I was lucky if I even washed my face (let alone moisturized it).
I use the the Anti-Aging Moisturizer when it is cold outside or at night because it is a little bit heavier than the Verage moisturizer. Then I use the Verage moisturizer during the day or when it is really hot because it is lighter.
I am in love with the anti-aging eye cream and the applicator, and use that over my moisturizer in the mornings and at night.
So there you have it, those are the differences between the different lines, but I feel like within each line there are times when I use some products over others. I hope this helps you decide.
