Well, it’s inevitable. The Monday after the Super Bowl is always rough for me. I don’t get a lot done, and I usually feel, well, super blah. The crazy thing is that I don’t like football. I don’t really like how the super bowl commercials have been taken over by tech companies that I don’t understand. Most of the uniforms are terrible, the color combinations are atrocious. The mascots… geez!!! I don’t even have any idea who played in the Super Bowl on Sunday, but you know what I do know!!!… how to party, and the super bowl is a great excuse to do it. My super bowl celebration went a little like this: A group of about 10 of us started at our favorite brunch spots with delish veggie food and carafes of mimosas, We then went to a second place where the drinking continued and we ordered not so healthy food, that is synonymous with the Super Bowl. Scott and I got home at god only knows what hour after my “party goblin” had been out for a while and Scott was sufficiently pissed about my antics. Needless to say Yesterday wasn’t pretty and Today I have some work to catch up on, and my energy level is just starting to recover but my brain is in a little bit of a fog… You might ask what all of this “super blah” nonsense has to do with essential oils, and I’m about to tell you.
Whenever I feel hungover, low on energy, or like I might be catching a cold, or like I have just run my body down and need a pick me up and especially because Scott gave me the ultimatum to get my taxes done this week or divorce, so I have to get my brain working again I turn to one of a few “Brain Smoothie” Recipes that I have. btw, Scott making me do my taxes this week is super cruel if you ask me, taxes are hard to do… anyway, clearly I’m not doing them because I’m writing this!
So Brain Smoothie is my go to girl for the super blahs This fixes you right up in a jiff and drink them multiple days in a row or multiple time in a day to be productive as a mother fucker.
Get Your Mind out of the Gutter Smoothie
1/2 Cup Collard Greens
1/2 Cup Swiss Chard
1 Cup Papaya
1/4 cup Walnuts
2 TBSP Flax Seeds
2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil (helps the speed of the nerve impulses within your brain)
1 Cup Water
Put the greens in first, then the papaya, walnuts and flax seeds with weigh the greens down. Add the water last and blend for about 2 minutes.
